I called 11 apartment complexes.

4th & Plum didn't have any available.
Garfield Place only had one converted studio, 650 SQFT for $535. Waaay too expensive.
Lakeside Park didn't have any available.
Vista Pointe is section 8. I'm a student. Not good.
Oxford never returned my call.

We have appointments tomorrow for:

10:15 Devou and Colonial Villages (2 complexes, 1 company)
12:00 Brentwood Alexandria
2:00 Gettysburg Square
3:00 Mt. Zion
5:00 Hayfield Park

Matthew is supposed to meet with the landlord and sign on tonight, so we can maybe even decide and start the paperwork by tomorrow afternoon or Friday morning. I know Matthew is really anxious to have a home again, and I don't want to keep him waiting. There are some people I really like to make happy and he's one of them. We've come full circle, and it has been a strange trip. I know he'll always be a part of my life, and that makes me really grateful. I'll stop now before he gets all grossed out by my sentimentality.

After I got all the apartment stuff scheduled, I went to the Anchor Grill with Melissa, and heard the complete tale of the heinous mugging last night. Hugs to Mikey and Melissa. Those asswpies wrote some pretty fucking large karma checks last night, and I'll bet they cash them pretty soon. After the Anchor (mmmm... goeeetaaa...), we came back to the apartment to look over the script and my new draft prints of Katie, Robin and Sarah. I plan to do a shoot with Melissa next. I've already started cranking ideas on that one. We had a lot of fun reading through the script and tweaking a few lines here and there.

I called my mom and got some good news and some bad news. Bad news: my dad got laid off, so I will no longer have health insurance as of July 1. Part of his severance was access to COBRA insurance, which is $250 a month, per person, which I cannot fucking afford. I'm going to try to get insurance through school. Student insurance is supposed to be affordable because we technically shouldn't be working full time. Ooh, icewater in my veins. I hate Paradyne. They just fucked so much up.

*deep breath*

In better news, my parents have invited Brain to go with us on our family vacation to St. George Island, FL. Whee! I've been so concerned about this and they finally agreed. I think that my sister's graduation day was important. She made the first step of acceptance by inviting him to her graduation, and then he was very helpful at dinner, and had time to talk with individual members of my family on a more personal level, smaller groups, and stuff. I'm really glad we went to help her finish her project and showed that we're part of the family. I am so excited. My parents even smoked in front of him. They've never smoked in front of any of my previous boyfriends. It's a pretty big deal.

My dad also had 2 free Riverbend passes he's going to give me, which is pretty cool. Also, my old 401k from I.T. flushed out because I hadn't rolled it over, so they just closed the account and sent me a check. I paid taxes on it because it was removed from retirement savings, but it's still money I can use right now, and half of it came out of I.T.'s pockets. Fuck yeah.

Dinner...?
